MoodShape

1. Overview

MoodShape (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is built local-first: there is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours that your recordings, transcripts, or mood history ever pass through. We do not collect or have access to your data.

2. Microphone & Recordings

With your permission, the App records up to 30 seconds of audio each night. This audio is analysed entirely on your device to derive acoustic features (such as loudness, pacing, and tone) that shape that night's generative “mood crystal”. Recordings are stored only in the App's local storage on your device and are never uploaded anywhere by us.

3. Speech Recognition

The App can transcribe your nightly recordings using Apple's Speech framework. Where on-device recognition is supported for your language, the transcription happens entirely on your device. If on-device recognition is not available for your language or device, Apple may process the audio on its servers to produce a transcript, subject to Apple's own privacy policy. Transcripts are stored locally alongside the corresponding recording and are not transmitted to us.

4. Mood History & Local Storage

Your recordings, transcripts, generated “mood crystal” data, and timeline history are stored exclusively in local storage on your device. This data:

• Is never transmitted to us or to any third-party server we control.
• Is not accessible to us or to any other party.
• Is permanently deleted if you uninstall the App or clear its data.

5. Exporting Your Recordings

The App lets you export a single night's recording, or a ZIP archive of your entire recording history, using the standard iOS share sheet. Exported files are handed directly to the destination you choose (for example, Files, Messages, or Mail) — we have no involvement in, or visibility of, this process.

6. Sharing a Mood

MoodShape lets you share a single mood as an image containing a QR code and link. This link encodes only an abstract “mood code” (the visual parameters of that mood's crystal) and the timestamp of the recording — it does not contain your audio, transcript, name, or any other personal data. Anyone with the link or QR code can view an animated recreation of that mood, either in the App (if installed) or via this website. The App does not track who shares or opens these links.

7. What We Do Not Do

• No user accounts, sign-in, or cloud sync.
• No analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
• No advertising identifiers (IDFA) are collected.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data — we never receive it.

8. Your Control & Deletion

Because all data lives on your device, you have complete control over it at all times. Deleting an entry within the App removes it immediately. Uninstalling the App permanently erases all recordings, transcripts, and mood history stored by it.

9. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above.
